University maintains a strong rapport with the development Departments of the State.
The co-operation between the University and these departments spans the areas of identification of problems, funding to find the
solutions, support for field work and lastly to reach the needy with the solutions. A strong and similar association exists between
the various research agencies. University thus has collaborative research in association with almost all the central institutes allied
to agriculture, fisheries, veterinary sciences, sericulture,
forestry and the related fields. Similar collaborative work exists between the State research Institutes and the University.

Bangalore has the distinction of being the host for many leading centrally funded
research institutes in the country, such as Indian Institute of Science, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, National Centre
for Biological Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, National Institute for Advancement of Science etc.
Scientists of the University have the distinction of not only associating themselves with these institutes for collaborative research
ventures, but also
many are Honorary Fellows of these Institutes, which speaks volumes of quality of science being practiced at the University.

The multi dimensionality of these collaborative ventures have
spread their net across even Non Governmental Organizations such as Monsanto,
Bio-control Research Laboratories, Rallis (India), etc. further exemplifying the broader outlook of the University scientists.

An ever pervading urge for higher standards in research, has necessitated the need to reach out for International
