The college of Agriculture, Mandya, was established on December 8,
1991 as a part of ruralization of Agricultural Education,
as envisaged by Government of Karnataka. It is located in
vishweshwaraiah Canal Farm campus popularly known as V.C.
Farm under the University of Agricultural Science, Bangalore,
about 10km away from Mandya town on Mandya-Melukote Road.
The campus encompasses Krishi Vignan Kendra and District
Agricultural Training Center apart from the Zonal Research Station.
The College which was initiated at the Zonal Agricultural Research Station
to start with, shifted to its own building on the campus with effect
from November, 1994. It is located at 190N latitude and 760E longitude
at an altitude of 695M above MSL.
Objectives:
To teach and train the students in Agricultural and allied subject,
leading to the award of B.Sc., (Agri), degree.
To enlarge the horizons
of knowledge and analytical capabilities of the students.
To impart extension knowledge
to the students through various extension programmes including Rural Agricultural
Work Experience (RWEP)
To provide exposure
to the students to various agro-climatic zones of the state and
country through both Sate and All India Education Tour.
