The College of Agriculture, V.C.Farm, Mandya which
started functioning during the year 1991-92 has successfully
completed 15 years of fruitful academic accomplishment.
It was started as part of ruralization of Agricultural
education as envisaged by Govt. of Karnataka.
It is located in Vishvesharaiah Canal Farm Campus
popularly known as V.C.Farm Campus under the University
of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore.
It is located at about 10 km away from Mandya
city on Mandya-Melukote Road. Since its inception
469 students have obtained B.Sc.(Agri.) degree from this college.
At present 219 students are studying in different classes on roll.
A total of 178 students are in receipt of various scholarships during the year.
Our students have excelled both in academic and extra curricular activities alike.
It is heartening to note that the students of this college have so far obtained
a total of 61 University Gold Medals in 11 convocations for obtaining highest grade
point in B.Sc.(Agri.) degree among the 3 constituent Agricultural Colleges of the University.
The students have also excelled in extra curricular
activities as winners in various athletic meet conducted so far.
The college gives special emphasis on field oriented teaching
activities through way of raising field crops and conducting
field experimentation by the student themselves.
The rural work experience programme organized by the
college imbibes a kind of special experience with rural
background in the student community. The programme enables
the students to gain experience in various fields of agriculture.
The NSS camp and social service activities are also conducted in the villages.
The college has experienced faculty, well equipped laboratories,
computer facilities, library, hostel facilities for both and boys and girls,
sports and other facilities to cater to the needs of students.
The Agricultural College V.C.Farm, Mandya located in rural
surroundings is a blessing for the children especially of
farming community for obtaining quality education in agriculture.
