  Agricultural Alumini

MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT’S DESK

This is the Silver jubilee year of the formation of UASB Alumni Association. It did not come to existence suddenly on some day. My memory goes back to some 50 years, when there were two colleges of Agriculture in the state at Hebbal Bangalore (1946) and Dharwad (1947) whose graduates by then were few and far spread. The Hebbal Agricultural School started in 1913 was about to be closed (1958). Some of the diploma holders had spread out in the country and abroad. Those who were the days when diploma and degree holders in Agriculture had problems whose redressal, the state was least interested. During late 1950’s we used to meet under the trees in Cubbon Park and discuss about the interest and welfare of Agriculture profession. The senior batch graduates were guiding. Some how formation of old boys Association was not officially registered until the late 1970’s The big boost came after the formation of UAS Bangalore in whose statues, the Alumni Association was incorporated and one Alumni in the board of management.
Old boys Association of the Agricultural College took the lead in the formation of UAS Alumni Association to include all the constituent colleges of the university and got registered in the year 1983.
The Association has come a long way with no resources and accommodation to begin with and equally difficult membership drive. Dedicated and persuasive senior Alumni left no stone unturned to get land for its activity and built a magnificent building. The Association is proud to say that it has no parallel in the history of state Agricultural universities (SAU’s) in the country in the formation of Alumni Association its assets and activities.
The Association believes, that there is untapped technical resources and talent among the Alumni, who have not found a channel to do there mite, can take advantage of the Association. Retired people too can avail the facilities of the Association to pursue their profession.
The office of the Alumni Association of University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore is located in its own building in the Animal Science Campus, Hebbal by the side of Veterinary College, facing the National Highway –No.7, the only way to Bangaluru International Airport.
The earnest appeal to Alumni is to help us to help the Alumni and be bonded with fraternity. The website and the E-mail is always at your service.
