Center For Innovation & Development in Smart Agriculture (CIDSA)

CIDSA is an initiative of Government of Karnataka which is implemented at University of Agricultural Sciences, GKVK, Bengaluru. The Center for Innovation & Development in Smart Agriculture (CIDSA) is a multi- phased project that intends to build the skills of students / engineers for the agricultural industry through a series of well-structured engagement models to make them industry-ready and conduct industry connection programs which facilitate job placements and projects.
CIDSA Operating Model
The Center for Innovation & Development in Smart Agriculture (CIDSA) shall operate as Hub and Spoke knowledge and technology dissemination centers ensuring a wider reach of Smart Future Agricultural practices to Farmers, Agriculturalists, Entrepreneurs and Young engineers at district and villages.
CIDSA Operating Model
Central Hub
Central Hub
  • The Central Hub is located the GKVK, UAS Bengaluru
  • The Central Hub will hold all major technology labs associated with the CIDSA and shall be the location of the training rooms and field implementation studies.
  • The Hub shall house the Governance committee members and shall also be the local contact for course delivery.
  • ‘Train the trainer’ program shall be conducted in the Central Hub. Trainer could be representatives from the GKVK, other colleges, local villages, government officials and government appointed faculty members.
  • The Hub shall also host localized events, specialist talks and training sessions, industry connect activities and marketing.
  • Incubation and Innovation Center shall function at the Central Hub
Spoke
  • The Spoke shall be extension units of the Central Hub and act as Assistance Hubs to address local farmers, agriculturalists, young engineers, and entrepreneurs.
  • Extensive Technology implementation and Field operation studies shall be performed at the Spoke using local farmer land and farm equipment.
  • Project Execution activities and other training activities.
Each lab will offer course with a duration of 60 hours each.
