Established in 1966, the Directorate of Postgraduate Studies at UASB is committed to excellence in postgraduate education, research, and innovation across agriculture and allied sciences. Today, UASB offers 26 Master’s and 21 Doctoral programmes, integrating rigorous coursework, practical training, and advanced research to foster scientific aptitude, professional competence, and innovation.

In an era marked by climate change, natural resource degradation, emerging pests and diseases, food and nutritional insecurity, and changing socio-economic conditions, advanced agricultural education and research are more important than ever. The Directorate places strong emphasis on quality education, inter disciplinary research, sustainability, and capacity building to nurture skilled, knowledgeable, and socially responsible professionals. We endeavor to promote impactful, need-based research that contributes to sustainable agricultural development, strengthens food and nutritional security, and improves the livelihoods of farming and rural communities.

To our postgraduate students, you are the torchbearers of agricultural innovation and progress. May your journey at UASB be enriched by curiosity, discovery, critical thinking, and a commitment to excellence. I encourage you to pursue knowledge with purpose, embrace emerging challenges, and translate your ideas and research into meaningful solutions for agriculture and society.
